A Singapore Dependant’s Pass (DP) is a visa issued to certain family members of Employment Pass and S Pass holders. It allows them to stay in Singapore for up to 2 years, depending on the validity of the main work pass. Dependant’s Pass holders can also operate a business in Singapore.
DP holders can apply for permanent residence (PR) in Singapore together with the Singapore main work visa holder in due course.

Upon approval, an in-principle approval (IPA) letter will be issued. It serves as a pre-approved single entry visa for the dependent to enter Singapore.
The dependent must visit Singapore within 2 months (for dependents of S Pass holder) or 6 months (for dependents of Employment Pass holder) to request for the issuing of Dependant’s Pass.

Yes, Dependant’s Pass holders may be eligible to apply for Singapore Permanent Residency (PR), especially if they have been residing in Singapore for a period of time.
However, PR applications are typically assessed based on the main pass holder’s profile, such as employment stability, income level, and overall contributions in Singapore.
Many families choose to strengthen their profile before applying to improve their chances of approval.
Holding a Dependant’s Pass does not negatively impact your PR application. In fact, it reflects that you are already part of a family unit residing in Singapore.
That said, approval chances depend on multiple factors, including the main applicant’s employment, income, and integration into Singapore society.
Proper planning and positioning of your application can significantly improve success rates.
If a Dependant’s Pass application is rejected, applicants may consider submitting an appeal, especially if additional supporting documents can strengthen the case.
Alternatively, other options such as applying for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) or exploring work pass opportunities may be considered.
👉 It is important to review the reasons for rejection and improve the application before reapplying.
There are several ways to enhance your PR application, including:
-Securing stable employment in Singapore
-Increasing household income level
-Demonstrating long-term commitment to Singapore
-Preparing a well-structured and compelling PR submission
👉 A professionally prepared PR application can make a significant difference in outcomes.
