Dependant's Pass Application

A Singapore Dependant’s Pass (DP) is a visa issued to certain family members of Employment Pass and S Pass holders. It allows them to stay in Singapore for up to 2 years, depending on the validity of the main work pass. Dependant’s Pass holders can also operate a business in Singapore

DP holders can apply for permanent residence (PR) in Singapore together with the Singapore main work visa holder in due course.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Dependant’s Pass

Employment Pass and S Pass holders must fulfil the following requirements in order to be eligible to apply for a Dependant’s Pass for their family members:

  • Earn a fixed monthly salary of $6,000 or more.
  • Sponsored by an established, Singapore-registered company

If the pass holder meets the above requirements, the following family members are eligible to apply for a Dependant’s Pass:

  • Legally married spouse
  • Unmarried children under the age of 21, including children who are legally adopted

Note: Other family members not listed may be eligible for a Long Term Visit Pass instead.

Documents Required for Dependant’s Pass Application:

The following documents are required for the application of Dependant’s Pass:

  • A completed Dependant’s Pass application form
  • Copy of the personal particulars page of the dependant’s passport
  • A recent passport size photo
  • Copy of the marriage certificate (for legally married spouse)
  • Copy of the parent’s passport personal particulars page (for children)
  • Copy of birth certificate (for children)
  • Copy of adoption order (if the child is legally adopted)
  • Verification of Vaccination Requirements (for children)

Note: all documents must be in English or with an English translation done by a certified translation body.

Steps To Apply for Dependant's Pass

    Upon approval, an in-principle approval (IPA) letter will be issued. It serves as a pre-approved single entry visa for the dependent to enter Singapore.

    Step 5 - Issuance of Notification Letter

    The dependent must visit Singapore within 2 months (for dependents of S Pass holder) or 6 months (for dependents of Employment Pass holder) to request for the issuing of Dependant’s Pass.

    Step 6 - Card Registration with MOM

    Upon receiving the notification letter, the dependant must register his or her fingerprints and complete photo-taking at the stated MOM centre. The DP card will be delivered within 4 business days.

What Happens If The Dependant's Pass Application is Rejected?

In the event that the Dependant’s Pass application is unsuccessful, the applicant can file an appeal within 90 days of the rejection notice. The appeal will take at least 3 weeks to process.
